Former coach praises Costa move

In the wake of Hélder Costa's signing for Valencia CF, VCF Media caught up with João Tralhão, his former coach in the Benfica youth system, to talk about the new arrival.

"He is a player with whom I worked for two years. He has a fantastic personality and character, but most of all, he is a hard worker. He is a fascinating signing for Valencia CF," he said of the Portuguese forward.

"He is a very attacking player who always goes for goal. He is a winger who works very well defensively to help the team. With him, you have a player on the wing who knows how to defend very well, who works a lot for the team and, in addition, when he has the ball he knows what to do with it. Physically he has increased his capabilities; You could say that he has matured," continued Tralhão.

"As a player he is going to give the team a lot of balance on both sides, commented the coach, who feels that everything is in place for a strong 2021/22.

"This year Valencia CF have the capacity to do great things. I am very happy that Hélder and Gonçalo Guedes are both at such an important club in Spain."
